A Remembrance of Mother's Day

This year Mother’s Day was just like any other with the family getting together and celebrating a day to acknowledge mom.  I have truly been blessed with great children.  We all got together and barbequed, with the guys doing all the cooking and after dinner clean up.  Yes, I have it on video!  LOL.

It was a fun day and each one gave me a special gift.  They all know me so well; the gifts were carefully chosen and I noticed that with all the talking and clanging of dishes, I did not feel like my thank you was loud enough.  It certainly was not as loud as my heart was feeling.  They had gathered to share their day with me and I would not trade it for anything.  They are all grown now with their families and all I can say is WOW, they took time from their busy lives to celebrate with me.  That alone is gift enough.

I recall all the years that we celebrated my mother, and as I look back I can see the same look on her face, that I felt in my heart.  I now know what that look meant.  Your heart swells so with pride that the words feel stuck in your throat.  I always heard my mother’s thank you however, so maybe my children actually did hear me.

Just to share one of my special gifts, my son hand-made a tiny 1-inch exact replica, pendant, of my book published this past year.  Front and Back cover!  My children are Great!  Did I already say that?
